MCSCOTCH [Pseud. of MACLANACHAN (William)] Fighter Pilot. 1st Ed., vii+248pp., 26 photos. (inc. many portraits), fldg. map. Near fine in sl. chipped & worn dw. Routledge & Son. 1936  #57265
[HLMainPic] Classic WW1 ace fighter pilots's memoirs: flew with Mannock in 40 Squadron May 1917-Jan. 1918; was in his Flight & appears to have known him well. Acclaimed, excellent account of the riotous life of a 'scout' pilot on the Western Front. Rare 1st Edition in attractive pictorial dw, this with just minor wear at extremities, chipped with a little loss at head of sp. & top of rear panel, & inscribed in ink by the author on ffep: "In appreciation of 'Intelligence.' Mac", so possibly a presentation copy to the IO of 40 Squadron, & certainly to some comrade. Additionally, the name 'MACLANACHAN' is writen in ink on tp. A desirable & scarce author signed copy. See illustration on our website.   £265
