Interesting copy bound in contemp. full brown morocco, gilt, with ruled gilt to sp. & boards, aditionally blocked to front with initials "L.J.M - M.F.B.-M. 1876-1926." These were the initials of the parents of Lt., later Captain & Brigade Major, Leonard Evelyn Leigh Maton, 1st Bn. Devonshire Regiment, MC & twice MiD, who is mentioned a number of times in the text: on mobilization he accompanied his ban. to France as adjutant, & after some time as a staff officer was KiA commanding a company at Arras on 9th May 1917 & is commemorated on the Arras Memorial.
