Edwards served with No. 1 Coy., PPCLI & was captured near Bellewarde when the bn. was all but destroyed, 8th May 1915; PoW at Giessen from where he made his first escape & was sent to a punishment camp at Vehnmoor on recapture, finally escaped again.
