Orig. blue cloth, gilt, minor wear, VG with a 1977 letter from the author to Maj.-Gen. Talbot, whose copy this was, also a 1975 ms. letter to Talbot from Colonel Dinald Dean, VC, containing some recollections of the Third Battle of Ypres: "I asked my batman for my rations... he said he had drawn his & mine together & could not divide them in the dark but that he would see that I got them alright. In the attack he was wounded but he crawled from shell hole to shell hole looking for me to give me my rations until he found that I had been carried back after being wounded..."
