GILCHRIST (Sir Andrew, KCMG) Bangkok Top Secret: Being the Experiences of a British Officer in the Siam Country Section of Force 136. 1st Ed., viii+231pp., 30 photos., map. VG in somewhat worn dw. Hutchinson. 1970  #66340
[HLMainPic] Gilchrist was a British diplomat interned in Bangkok in 1941, later released in an exchange of diplomats & went on to serve with rank of major in Force 136, operating behind Japanese lines in Siam. Personal account of these experiences which is unaccountably rare, probably only one small print-run. VG in sl. chipped & sp. faded dw, with bookplate of Bernard Fergusson, famous WW2 Chindit Brigade commander, plus loosely inserted letter from literary editor of the Sunday Times "I'll look forward to 500-600 words... as soon as you comfortably can." Fergusson's notes for his review to rear end-paper. Interesting copy. See illustration on our website.   £125
