Rare privately printed memoir & a most unusual viewpoint of RAMC TF officer appointed OC 51st Highland Division Sanitary Section. Served France 1915-18: "Our war involved us in a ceaseless attack on the camping grounds & lurking places of the agents of disease" - unglamorous but essential work, from education of troops in personal hygiene (some of the Highlanders took exception it seems) to disposal of waste matter, provision of latrines, prevention of disease &c.
