A rare record of the period of the Jameson Raid, with an account of this event. In his Preface the author explains that this is not a history and that his Observations: "simply record the impressions of a chance visitor to the town during the period of the rising, & consist for the most part of notes, hastily made during a time of great excitement, of events from day to day." Orig. maroon cloth, gilt, little worn, generally Vg & inscribed: "To Charles Howard Esq. from the Author." See illustrations on our website.
