Pester was commissioned in the HEIC forces 1801 in time to participate with 1st Bn., 2nd Native Infantry, in Gen. Lake's 2nd Mahratta War campaign in north & central India inc. ops. at Allighur, Deig, Laswaree, Bhurtpore &c. Detailed & rare diaries, edited by a relative who had been Executive Engineer, Public Works Dept. of India, & provided with detailed indices of names & places. Old apple green cloth, gilt, minor foxing & wear, little worming o/w VG. See illustration on our website.
