TF unit mobilised in August 1914: a detachment was attached to the 10th Fd. Amb., 4th Division for service in France; the rest of the 1st HCFA was transformed into the 81st Field Ambulance & served with the 81st Brigade of the 27th Division in France & later Salonika. The second line unit (2/1st HCFA) served with the 58th (London) Division in the UK then France 1917-18. Roll of Hon., wards, various lists of detchements, &c. Orig. maroon cloth, gilt, VG & rare.
