[HLMainPic] Great War memoirs of four Barton siblings, including biographies, extracts from their war letters, & other details: the eldest, Lester Clement Barton, a lieutenant in the Field Artillery, was acting as a Liaison Officer with infantry when he was killed at Belleau Wood on 19th July 1918. His memoir & letters from France, & the finding of his helmet, &c., are both moving & interesting. His brothers served in the Ambulance Corps & the US Navy, the latter died of influenza in 1918. Their sister, Thyrza Barton Dean, volunteered as a YWCA worker & served 20 months in France & Poland. She sailed for France in Nov. 1917 & mainly worked in Paris during the war.
