In about 1864 it was determined that "complete returns of the equipment of the army should be made by the officers of the Topographical & Statistical Depot, & illustrated by drawings of every article authorized to be supplied to the army, the work was divided into seven parts..." This is the second part. It was published without illustrations, although it was planned to issue the latter in a supplement. Contains details of the organization of the artillery, personal equipment, horse equipment, materiel for field service, gun equipment, tools, &c. &c. Orig. maroon cloth, blindstamped & gilt, rebacked, orig. sp. laid down, VG thus, ex-RUSI although inner joints, probably needlessly, neatly tape repaired. Just 75 copies printed & thus a rare survival. See illustrations on our website.
