Fine German novel that became the basis for Pabst's notable war film Westfront. Orig. grey cloth, titled in red, near fine with a most striking image blindstamped to front board from the jacket design by Paul Wenck. Complete with chipped dw: small loss at foot of sp., rubbed at extremities o/w VG with attractive Paul Wenck design. Wenck was an acclaimed artist/illustrator, German-born (1892) but domiciled in the USA by the time of this production. This American edition is unaccountably incredibly scarce in any form, but particularly so in the jacket which is a fine example of Wenck's impressive graphic style. See illustrations on our website.
