In 1928 Dr Horatio Rogers came across his WW1 pocket notebook describing his experiences of active service in France with Battery A, 101st Artillery, 26th Division, A.E.F. He then transcribed this valuable & detailed record, with additional notes, & had the copy bound for posterity. In later life his neighbour read it & persuaded him to print it in the form here offered. It is a fine & detailed record of service in the ranks, although Rogers was an educated man who left Harvard to enlist. Returning there after demob., he became a surgeon & served again in WW2 in the Mediterranean theatre. Orig. red cloth, gilt, VG & scarce. See illustrations on our website.
