The author was Ed. at Harrow School, enlisted Sheffield City Bn. 1914, commissioned in 2nd/4th Hallamshires 1915 but found unfit in 1916 & became a recruiting officer in Doncaster, finally left to join the Hallamshires at the Front in August 1916, served at Arras, Gavrelle &c. Orig. red cloth, gilt, VG with later ink note to ffep & related cutting pinned-in. See illustration on our website.
