As well as names of towns, hill ranges &c., conditions such as 'tree steppe,' open steppe,' &c. are detailed. VG with printed 'Ex Mappis' plate of W.H. Ingrams (William Harold Ingrams, 1897-1973, Ed. at Shrewsbury & served with KSLI on Western Front (wounded); colonial administrator whose career was spent mostly in East Africa & Arabia. He was awarded an OBE, 1933, CMG, 1939. He & his wife were jointly awarded the Lawrence of Arabia Memorial Medal of the Royal Central Asian Society, 1939, for their role in bringing peace to the Hadhramaut, & the Founder's Medal of the Royal Geographical Society, 1940, for their exploration of the region).
