Author was a first-class reservist mobilized in 1914 with the 1st Bn. Black Watch (Royal Highlanders). Active service from Mons to the Marne as a battalion runner & scout until wounded in Jan. 1915, followed by a short description of hospital life until discharged on 5th August 1915, "No longer physically fit for war service." Orig. black cloth, titled in yellow, minor wear, about VG. See illustration on our website.
