Exceptionally rare history of the 83rd (County of Dublin) Regt., later 1st Bn. Royal Irish Rifles. Peninsula war Battle Honours included Talavera, Busacao, Fuentes d'Onor, Ciudrad Rodrigo, Badajos, Salamanca, Vittoria, Nivelle, Orthes, & Toulouse, while service in the Indian Mutiny in Central India was rewarded with that Battle Honour. Rolls of the officers of the regiment, including those killed or wounded in various campaigns, with other remarks. Based on Orderly Room records, &c. Orig. red cloth, gilt title to sp., regimental device to front, last few leaves & rear cover dampstained o/w VG throughout. See illustration on our website.
