[HLMainPic] Ivor Forsyth Grant was a pre-war member of Lovat's Scouts. He was educated at Edinburgh University (he was apparently to go to Oxford but family finances prevented it) and joined the Scottish Bar in January 1914. Much of his time was spent on the Boy Scout movement. Mobilized in August 1914 and served in England until August 1915 when the 2nd Lovat's Scouts were posted to Gallipoli. He was severely wounded reconnoitring a Turkish position on the night of 18th October 1915 and died next day in hospital. He was twenty-seven years old, was posthumously Mentioned in Despatches and lies in Lala Baba Cemetery. This slim volume describes his life, character and attributes but does not include any war letters or diary extracts. Orig. blue cloth, blocked in black on front, VG ex-IWM lib. with inscrip. from the subject's mother.   £120
