[HLMainPic] Material extracted from 4th Army GS War Diary relating to the Battle of Amiens, 8th-11th August 1918 including: Notes on Conference Held at 2nd Australian Division Hdqrs., Villers Bretonneux, at 3 p.m. 11th August 1918 (2pp.); Weekly Summaries of casualties (1 page each); Units & Formations Arriving in Fourth Army Area Prior to the Operations on August 8th (5pp., includes tanks & artillery units); missive re Secrecy for the Preparations for the Offensive (security arrangements for the battle were excellent) & other sundry SECRET correspondence. Workmanlike card binding with cloth backstrip, VG with bookplate of US Army War College Library, typed title labels to front & a few ink markings. It is evident that this British intelligence material was passed to the Americans & retained for study at the War College.   £75
