I was 52, lucky in that respect to be safe from the trenches." Valuable & rare account of the work & conditions of a volunteer Red Cross driver in France & Flanders, who finally returned home early in 1918 after more than two years work at the Front. Orig. red cloth, gilt, near fine, published by St. Catherine's Press (imprint of W.H. Smith & Son's Arden Press) but almost certainly a private venture by the author. Rare.
