This sheet shows the coastal region south of Lindi including Rowuma Bay, &c., down to Tungi Bay (in Portuguese East Africa), the border between German & Portuguese East, & details on the Portuguese side of the border at Nakwedanga &c. As well as names of towns, hill ranges &c., conditions such as 'forest & bush' are noted, as well as waterholes &c. VG with printed 'Ex Mappis' plate of W.H. Ingrams (William Harold Ingrams, 1897-1973, colonial administrator whose career was spent mostly in East Africa & Arabia. He was awarded an OBE, 1933, CMG, 1939. He & his wife were jointly awarded the Lawrence of Arabia Memorial Medal of the Royal Central Asian Society, 1939, for their role in bringing peace to the Hadhramaut, and the Founder's Medal of the Royal Geographical Society, 1940, for their exploration of the region).
