[HLMainPic] First-hand accounts of service experiences contributed to "Punch" by Alec Leith Johnston whilst serving in France and Flanders with 1st Bn. King's Shropshire Light Infantry. Johnston was Ed. at St. Paul's School & Exeter College, Oxford, enlisted in the Artists's Rifles in 1914 & commissioned 1915. He was Killed in Action near Ypres on 22nd April 1916, aged twenty-six, and is buried in Essex Farm Cemetery. Includes an Appreciation by the Medical Officer of his bn. which includes a description of his final action & previous events in Flanders. Orig. blue cloth, VG & scarce.
