Orig. blue cloth, gilt, VG with loosely inserted review slip from the publishers (Longmans) annotated by the recipient with critical comments on some of the maps (e.g., "Map 8 Moewe not shown" &c.), also ms. letter dated 9th May 1929 from Lt.-Col. John Murray DSO, of the eponymous publishing firm: "My dear Arthur... Keep the Naval Operations if you like on indefinite loan if I should want it for a Q.R. article I'll ask for it but it is most unlikely. Yrs ever, Jack." See illustration on our website.
