Commissioned 9th Glosters Jan. 1915, to the Western Front the same year then to Salonika 1916 from where he was invalided to the UK, afterwards joining the 14th (later 12th) Entrenching Bn., Glosters, in 35th Div. until KiA in the Spring Offensive, March 1918.
