Excellent, large format & well illustrated record of this American Base Hospital based mainly in Northern France & Flanders, 1917-19. Excellent quality production with nicely reproduced photos. Appendices include detailed notes on the services of both male & female staff, list of awards, &c. Harvey Cushing was a member of this unit & his details & portrait appear within. Orig. blue paper covd. boards with gilt title to front & darker blue cloth backstrip, VG throughout & rare. See illustration on our website.
