An official record prepared by request of Rt. Hon. Sir Albert H. Stanley, MP, President of the Board of Trade, & compiled by an official of the Timber Supply Dept. together with an officer of the Corps. An informative & well illustrated account of the Corps from its beginnings early in 1916 when a battalion of Canadian lumbermen, named the 224th Canadian Forestry Battalion, was recruited for work in the forests of England, Scotland & France. The organisation was enlarged to include additional units & the CFC performed much valuable work in the UK & France in support on military operations. Falls 182 ("An account of an unusual aspect of the Allied war effort...") Orig. grey cloth, titled in red to front, minor wear, generally VG, 1200 copies printed & rare.
