In about 1864 it was determined that "complete returns of the equipment of the army should be made by the officers of the Topographical & Statistical Depot, & illustrated by drawings of every article authorized to be supplied to the army, the work was divided into seven parts..." This is the sixth part: it contains such matter as baker's, butcher's, carpenter's, smith's & cooper's equipment, among others. It was published without illustrations, although it was planned to issue the latter in a supplement. Orig. maroon cloth, blindstamped & gilt, sl. chipped with some loss o/w VG ex-RUSI. Inner joints, probably needlessly, neatly tape repaired. Rare survival. See illustrations on our website.
