Interesting & amusing letters of this Eton Tutor & House Master to his former pupils serving in various Fronts during the war. All contain news of other old boys & masters, & in this copy, Jim Neville has usefully identified in marginal notes those who were only referred to be initials, Christian names or nicknames in the original letters here assembled for publication. Plain label affixed to front paste-down bearing ink inscription "Jim Neville from his tutor gratefully and affectionately" plus another inscrip. (in the same hand) to ffep: "Ex Libris J.E.H. Neville Lt 43rd Light Infantry. The gift of his Tutor Hugh Macnaghten. April 1920." Plus armorial bookplate of James Edmund Henderson Neville Esquire, M.C., Captain 43rd Light Infantry.
