Acclaimed complete Indian Corps history, including the background and composition of the Corps, its equipment & armament, leadership & several controversial issues such as a supposed tendency to desert to the enemy & the myth of self-inflicted wounds. Following a chapter on minor operations & trench warfare there are narratives of the ten major battles or operations in which the Corps participated during its year on the Western Front. Each of these is followed by a battlefield guide with clear maps & directions which will enable visitors to the scenes of these great events to follow them on the ground. Finally, there are descriptions of some of the notable Indian cemeteries & memorials in France & Belgium, with a suggested tour of some of those in the Indian Corps sector, details of the hospitals established for Indians on the south coast during 1914-15, with a tour of the Brighton hospitals and memorials. Only 50 copies of the hardback edition were printed & is out of print. See illustrations on our website.
