Standard & excellent work. Major (later Professor) Foot was not in SOE, but worked alongside & was captured by the Germans while serving with the Special Air Serrvice Brigade in France in 1944. This first Impression was quickly withdrawn when it became the subject of libel accusations by a former agent, Capt. Peter Churchill, who was awarded damages by the High Court. the book was reissued with alterations to a few pages. Orig. green cloth, VG in dw with an interesting press cutting re the aforementioned libel case loosely inserted. See illustration on our website.
