Diary of service in USA, France & the Army of Occupation from May 1918 to May 1919. Reifsnyder was at Cornell University when America entered the war. He enlisted in the First Pennsylvania Cavelery but was promptly allocated to the Engineers with whom he served in France, mainly, it appears, digging trenches (usually under shell fire), wiring & other defensive works. A finely produced, detailed & rare work. Orig. green cloth with leather lettering label to sp., little rubbed, generally VG & inscribed by the author in ink on the mount for the frontis. portrait: "To George and Edith. Henry G.
