Excellent & rare complete set (many volumes are very rare & the final two, 1918 Parts IV & V, published after WW2 when interest had moved away from the Western Front of 1914-1918, are exceptionally difficult to obtain). Cornerstone work covering all phases in detail & an essential core of research for any serious understanding of the conduct & course of Western Front operations. David French's invaluable discourse (contained in 'The First World War & British Military History') on the circumstances & methods of its compilation, pointing out its strengths & defects, is an essential companion. Orig. red cloth, gilt, very nice & bright throughout excepting Vol. II 1916 text which is rather sunned. An exceptionally nice clean set.
